Commentary: Sexist treatment of Brown must end
NEW YORK (McCain campaign) -- Frankly I have had it, and I know a lot of other women out there who are with me on this. I have had enough of the sexist treatment of Campbell Brown. It has to end.
She was in New York on Tuesday pandering to the Obama campaign. And what did the CNN network do?
They tried to ban anything other than completely biased reporting. And they did ban Campbell Brown from asking any real questions to democrats.
I call upon the CNN network to stop treating Campbell Brown like she is a delicate flower who will wilt at any moment.
This woman is from Louisiana for crying out loud. She is strong, she is tough, she is confident. And you claim she is ready to be one heartbeat away from being a real reporter. If that is the case, then end this chauvinistic treatment of her now. Allow her to show her stuff.
Allow her to face down those pesky democrats just like Tom Brokaw did, just like Mike Wallace did. Just like Tim Russert has done on numerous occasions. Let her have a real newscast with real questions.
By treating Campbell Brown differently from other reporters on TV, you are not showing her the respect she deserves.
Free Campbell Brown.
Free her from the chauvinistic chains you are binding her with.
Sexism at this network must come to an end. Campbell Brown has as much a right to be a real reporter on the news as the men do.
So let her act like one.
